Magnus Stromland (80)

I'm married to Liselott and we have two children: Martin, age 12, and Josephine, age 9.

I attended I.S. between 1970-1975. Looking back it was a great  time. Living abroad gives you a perspective on most things in life. Subjects as history, social studies and geography are given a deeper dimension as you experience them live. The seven years I spent in Manila certainly sculptured my personality and attitudes. I presently work for

Scandinavian Airlines in Denmark even though i live in Malmö/Sweden. I've done this since 1984.

In December 2001 my family and I visisted Manila. For me it  was the first time since a short easter visit in 1976 and the first time ever for my family. We visited all the places of personal interest such as the houses I lived in, schools and clubs. Much had changed during the past 25 years but everything was still recognizable.

The day we visited I.S. was the very last day of school before the X'mas holiday and Mrs. Evelyn
Morales-Del Rosario was very kind to guide us around the campus. Thank you very much for your time and effort. Besides having moved everything around , building an elementary school on the former
soccer field and expanding the poolarea, it was just like before. It is sad now that the campus is being moved. I'm glad I got thechance to see it one last time. It's a big part of my past and now my family knows what I'm talking about when I say, " when I went to school...".
