After AS, I went to UC Irvine and majored in drama. Joined
the Peace Corps and served two years in Cameroon teaching English as a foreign
language.
Got a master's at the University of Southern California in International Public
Administration. I worked for the USO in Okinawa for a brief time (and
made my last trip to the Philippines including a visit to John Hay) in the early 80s.
Since then, I've been working for the American Red Cross including 14 years in Armed
Forces Emergency Services which has had me overseas for most of the time. It also had me
in Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War. Gee, I even got to go back to Saudi Arabia a second
time.
I have now switched over to the calm pursuit of Disaster Services at the Orange County Red
Cross Chapter in Santa Ana, CA.
Most memorable PI memory? Having San Miguel delivered to the house by the case. Of course,
life was a little tough when I returned to California
where the drinking age is and was 21. |
