chats. For summaries of prior years' chats, use the links at the bottom of this page. |

| Christmas
activities kept the chat to a small group, which chatted about three hours. Phil
Adamson is coming to the US from Manila for the holidays while Andy Butler is going to
Manila for the holidays. Chatting were: |

| Ten alums, many
of them still basking in the afterglow of the DC Retro reunion, chatted for a good four
hours. Current movies gave way to "when and where" for a possible Vegas
mini-reunion in October 2002. Monitor screens fogged up as the chat "heated up" when Rick Velayo's favorite Australian alum, Lisa Miles, arrived. Good-natured bastus double-speak was in order until...a stranger arrived! Alums were thrown into pandemonium when mysterious Dane42 entered. Asked to identify himself, he coyly gave only his location (Greensboro, NC), and then class (71). Guessing began at Dan E., but no such alum could be found in the AISAAM directory or Kawayans. Then, names began to be thrown out wildly. Nothing... Some alums thought he was a random drop-in faking alum status. When he said he used to live on Sampagita Street in Dasmarinas, that talk ended. Turned out to be Dana Herring! He had recently heard about AISAAM, visited the site, saw the chat info and decided to stop in. Mabuhay to another alum who has reunited with the AISAAM barkada!

| Eight alums,
six of them and the host still basking in the afterglow of the DC Retro Reunion,
chatted three hours about how great the reunion was, when photos will be posted on
websites and when a proposed reunion next year (October?) in Las Vegas might be held.
(Steve Fellerman will scout a 96 unit all-suites hotel next month as a possible location.) Rick Velayo and Joyce Gamber still have not gotten together for
dinner but will do so as soon as Joyce has some time. Nancy MacArthur may have lunch
with Joyce since they work near each other. |

| Eight alums
chatted up a marathon this month! At 12:30 AM (Eastern), six were still chatting and
the last bleary-eyed alums stumbled out of the Chismis room about 1:30 AM. Technically, Gina Ragan in Guam gave us "overseas" but not "international" participation since Guam is American territory. Jeff Brown, who once again heroically represented all the classes of the 80's, did recently come back from a driving trip to Toronto though! (Jeff moved to Vienna, Virginia in January so that trip was not as long as it would have been from his previous home in Florida.) At the appropriate time, guest host Steve Fellerman will buy Joyce Gamber her choice of a San Miguel or Sarsi for her valor in bleeding for the alums. A big cat had severely clawed one of her arms while Joyce was volunteering at the SPCA. Joyce endured the pain and continued to chat until the bandage bled through and she left for the doctor, who put in eight stitches. Joyce may get to visit Gina in the near future when Joyce visits Guam on business. Joyce and Rick Velayo also hope to visit soon now that they realize they live only about 10 blocks from each other. Joyce suggested a restaurant owned by Rick's neighbor. Small world! For the second month in a row, alums were graced by a "celebrity" - Kris Weathermon, who was only at the school for her senior year after her father began as Superintendent in 1976. After graduation, Kris worked in Manila as an AP reporter, hosted a news show for DWRT radio, and hosted Discorama now and then. Kris mentioned she had dinner with Coach Tabby and his wife during a recent visit to the US and may be able to provide us with a photo for the website gallery. Classmates Jeff Phillips and Gina Ragan, who went to their
8th grade dance together had a mini-reunion and hope to stay in touch. |

| A dozen alums
chatted three hours and we learned of the "movie stars" among us. Fred
Gleeck played the villain in Diamond Run, now available at your video rental outlet.
Jeff Brown was in Purple Hearts with Cheryl Ladd. Get their autographs at the
Retro Reunion! Phil Adamson fielded questions from alums inquiring whether their favorite study areas still existed. Patio Flamenco is gone; Where Else is still there and was renovated about 2 years ago. Unique Manila expressions were recalled, such as "off
the light" and "play bowling." Phil tactfully reminded us about
"home course." He also mentioned that tickets are issued for not wearing a
seat belt. |

| Fifteen alums
in three countries (and one territory) chatted for 3 1/2 hours. Since Manila alum
Phil Adamson was with us, the kidnapping situation was discussed. Karlyn Goolsby
related hat her father was a kidnapping target in Makati recently but assessed the
situation correctly and was able to get into a bank. Chat host Andy Butler will
possibly be in Manila for a month during Christmas.
To the delight of the
"regulars" (especially Rick Velayo), Lisa Miles brought us the Australian
presence after a long absence. Chatting were: |

| Fifteen alums
spanning three decades made this chat one of the top three in participation in chat
history. Six alums were still making chismis 2 1/2 hours later after covering such
topics as the PI political situation, the Pinoy channel, growing calamansi in Florida, and
sari-sari items for the Retro Reunion. Liz Hamra promised to give syntax lessons in
DC on the use of "ba" for those who missed her class during the Bahamas cruise.

chatted about topics ranging from the Retro Reunion, food recipes (particularly garlic),
Erap's situation and the value of the peso (50-1), and gas prices ($1.45 in Georgia).

| Eleven alums,
including four "first timers" and one "friend" chatted for three
hours. First timers included classmates Liz Dixon and Barbara Tomassi (who had a
mini-reunion of their own), Susan Noone and Diane Rose. Susan Noone was also
celebrating her 23rd wedding anniversary with us! And Shawn Palmer announced she's
expecting! Karl Meyer checked in towards the end and advised about his cruise from
Saipan to Norfolk - it was over 30 days one way. Chatting were: |

| Thirteen alums
from the US, Manila and Australia chatted up a storm for three hours. The Retro
Reunion was a major topic since some of the organizers were present. Phil Adamson
reported on the situation in Manila, and we were impressed that his prediction during last
month's chat came true - the next week, the impeachment trial collapsed and there was a
new President. Phil mentioned that Ken Greenfield (77) would soon be visited
Manila. In another "small world" story, an alum related how he had met a woman in church who had been a class of 74 Subic cheerleader. Since it is Valentine's week, Rick and Lisa had quite a time...particularly since Lisa hadn't been at a chat for a while. Chatting were: |

& Lawrence Li were able to fill us in on what's up in Manila before they had to leave
for the opening of polo season, where they would see two alums who are among the top PI
polo players - Inigo Zobel and Rick Yabut. Lawrence mentioned there was a special
welcome after he arrived at Manila airport; fortunately, the bomb exploded an hour after
he cleared Customs. Phil advised that his sources say we can expect an
interesting development with Erap in the next week or so. (Resignation? Martial law?
Asylum at Phil's?) Chatting were: |
