The International School - History

(1971 - Present)
Introduction

In the course of the 1971/72 school year, the American School became International School Manila (ISM). Since the 60s the number of American students has dropped steadily from nearly 77% of the student population to today's figure of under 20%.

The number of Filipinos continued to rise until it reached a government set maximum of 17%, where it remains today. Third country nationals make up the majority of the student body, with countries on the Asian mainland and sub-continent contributing the most.
